What is still missing from the brief?
It asks only while a required answer is missing, then it stops.
It asks a follow-up while a required field is still empty, and it stops when the required answers are in. It uses the same schema as a form or a survey. It does not invent a confidence score, and it does not keep asking after the record is complete.
How does the next question get chosen?
The interview looks at the required fields in the schema. If a required answer is missing, it asks about that field. If the respondent has already given it, that question is skipped. The point is a complete record, not a longer chat.
A scripted example on the how-it-works page shows the AI maturity path: policy status, owner, and evidence. A numeric governance score appears only when the assessment workflow supplies it.

When should you use a survey instead?
Use a survey when every respondent should see the same pages, including optional questions, ratings, and a progress save. Use an interview when the valuable part is the missing detail, and extra questions would only add noise.
